Nickel Magnesium Alloys are master alloys of Magnesium with Nickel. They facilitate small additions of Magnesium to Iron, which transforms graphite flakes to spheroids.
This group of alloys was the first to be used for S.G.Iron production. Because of high density (about 8.0g/cc), these do not float easily and hence magnesium recoveries are high and consistent.
Our alloys are produced in induction furnaces and cast in permanent moulds, to give better homogeneity. The alloys are analysed with the help of X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer to ensure consistent quality.

MagKast series of Nickel Magnesium Alloys are ideally suited for S.G.Irons where alloying with Nickel is required like Austenitic S.G.Iron castings. Nickel Magnesium Alloys are more suitable for Pearlitic grades of S.G.Iron as Nickel is a Pearlite stabilizer.
Size Range | 10-100 mm, 25-80 mm |
Addition | 0.8-1.2 %. |
Packing | 100 Kg – Steel Drums. |
Storage | If stored in low humidity environment in the same packing, product can be preserved for a long time. If exposed to humidity, it may be oxidised and even generate toxic gases. |
